Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Assistant to join our educational team. This role involves providing personalised support to students, particularly those with special educational needs, including individuals with autism and disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational activities to students with diverse needs, including those with autism and other disabilities
- Support students with their daily routines, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and engaged in the learning process
- Provide one-on-one assistance to children, including toddlers, to promote their social, emotional, and educational development
- Implement behaviour management strategies under supervision to encourage positive behaviour and participation
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents to ensure consistent support and progress monitoring
- Help create a welcoming classroom environment that caters to individual learning styles and needs
- Assist in organising classroom materials and resources for effective lesson delivery
Requirements
- Experience working with children, particularly in special education or behavioural support roles is desirable
- Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly advantageous
- Previous experience in toddler care or working with young children is beneficial
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's development and learning
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
