Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Florist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for floral design and visual aesthetics, with the ability to craft stunning arrangements that meet clients’ specifications. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing floral displays, maintaining stock, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Create bespoke floral arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, events, and retail displays
- Source and select fresh flowers and foliage, ensuring high quality and seasonal variety
- Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of the flower shop and workstations
- Utilise digital design tools to plan and visualise floral concepts before execution
- Use software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign to develop promotional materials or visual displays
- Photograph floral arrangements for marketing purposes, social media, or client portfolios
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide expert advice on floral choices
- Keep up-to-date with current floral trends and colour schemes to ensure innovative designs
- Assist in stock management, including ordering supplies and tracking inventory levels
- Support event setup by arranging flowers on-site according to specifications
Skills
- Proficiency in digital design programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with graphic design, sketching, or CAD software like SketchUp or Maya is advantageous
- Competence in web design fundamentals including HTML and CSS is a plus for managing online content or digital portfolios
- Strong photography skills to capture high-quality images of floral arrangements
- Knowledge of floral techniques combined with artistic flair for colour coordination and composition
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Creative mindset with an eye for aesthetics and current trends in floral design
