Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Bank Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our residents, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers flexibility to cover shifts as needed, providing valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting. The Bank Cook will play a vital part in delivering nutritious and delicious meals to our residents, maintaining the smooth operation of our culinary services.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food handling and preparation
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment and work surfaces
- Assist with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
- Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks
- Serve meals to residents or colleagues in accordance with service procedures
- Follow all health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Flexibility to cover various shifts as required, during Monday - Friday if necessary
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards colleagues and residents
