James Ray Recruitment are currently working with a firm recruiting for a Lawyer to join their Employers’ Liability department. They welcome applications from qualified solicitors and candidates who are qualified through relevant experience. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of predominantly pre-issue and post-issue fast track Employers’ Liability matters, handling cases efficiently and proactively from inception through to conclusion.
In return, they offer a highly competitive and transparent commission structure. All of their lawyers receive a percentage of every successful case they conclude, with no thresholds or caps in place, ensuring you are fully rewarded for your achievements and contribution.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Employers’ Liability claims from inception through to conclusion.
- Conduct detailed legal research and provide clear, practical legal advice to clients.
- Prepare and draft a range of legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements and correspondence.
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients at court hearings where required.
- Work effectively within a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support teams to achieve successful outcomes for clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, case law and regulatory developments.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of billing and successfully managing a litigated caseload.
- Demonstrates genuine tenacity and a proactive approach to case progression.
- Committed to advancing matters through litigation to secure the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Experience handling Employers’ Liability fast-track matters, including both portal and predominantly non-portal claims.
- Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, relevant case law, litigation trends and legal precedents, with the ability to apply this knowledge strategically.
- Demonstrable experience managing litigated files from inception through to applications, hearings, trial and final disposal.
- Previous experience using the Proclaim case management system would be advantageous.
