The Digital Curation team devises and implements the content curation strategies across our VoD estate and ensures the right tactical and strategic content decisions are made to increase viewing, users and habitual usage across our services.
Purpose of the role
This role is responsible for the day-to-day planning and scheduling of multiple FAST channels to drive viewing reach and frequency. The FAST Scheduling Executive works collaboratively with wider Digital, Tech & Ops, Marketing, Programming, Media Planning teams to ensure optimal FAST channel management and liaises with platform partners to secure editorial feature support.
Experience
- FAST channel scheduling within a streaming service or FAST channel provider.
- Content inventory management within a broadcast, streaming or creative media environment.
- Experience using content and schedule management tools.
- Using performance data to drive viewing, retention and engagement.
- Stakeholder and partner management to ensure discoverability and ongoing content prominence.
Knowledge
- Understanding of FAST channel scheduling and complex rights windows.
- Awareness of clearance, compliance and related processes.
- UKTV’s brands, content and audiences, plus an understanding of the FAST competitor landscape.
Skills & personal qualities
- Competent using Content Management Systems to maintain and schedule content and channels.
- Specific knowledge of Whats’ON (WON) or other Broadcast Management Systems.
- Able to precisely manage a large volume of complex and detailed information, specifically content availability, licenses and usage.
- Ability to draw insights from data sets and reporting to understand and improve user experience.
- Multi-tasking and working across multiple channels and genres with differing audiences simultaneously.
- Confident communicating and presenting at all levels of the business in-person and remotely.
- Proactive, collaborative and flexible, comfortable maintaining positive relationships and working to deadlines within a dynamic environment.
- Passionate about TV with strong editorial judgement, plus good knowledge, and awareness of emerging trends within the FAST landscape.
- Strong numeracy, written, IT and admin skills, including Excel or other database packages.

Schedule and manage FAST channels. Create programmes in Whats’ON, adding relevant information as required.
- Support the FAST Schedule Manager to grow FAST by rolling out new FAST channels onto existing and new platforms.
- Inventory management. Identify what is and isn’t in license and work across functions, including with Compliance and BBC Studios, to ensure sufficient content availability.
- Liaise with third-party FAST platforms and editorial teams, flagging UI opportunities to UKTV’s TV partners to help them plan, deliver value to their users and ultimately grow viewing.
- Be responsible for the timely distribution of regular highlights newsletters to FAST platform partners.
- Brief platform image and key art refreshes to maximise merchandising across FAST platforms. Act as the day-to-day contact for platform partners, escalating any issues to internal stakeholders.
- Manage and update the relevant planning and tracking documents.
- Stay up to date with FAST performance and viewing trends to inform the Digital Curation team’s scheduling and curation decisions.
- Work closely with the VoD Images team to track prominence across FAST TV platforms and report findings back to the business.
- Form strong internal relationships with Marketing, Press & Comms, Creative and Commercial to deliver promotional initiatives, including bespoke collections and partner engagement activities.
- Support the FAST Schedule Manager, deputise in their absence and assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
