Vehicle Technician
Location: Derby, Derbyshire
Shift: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:30
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum DOE
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy automotive operation in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern workshop environment carrying out servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and vehicle inspections on a wide range of vehicles.
The successful candidate will be a skilled technician with a strong mechanical background and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
The Role:
As a Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs
- Completing MOT inspections and testing where qualified
- Performing air conditioning servicing and repairs as required
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Undertaking road tests and ramp inspections
- Carrying out repairs in line with approved methods and manufacturer standards
- Completing warranty repairs where required
- Ensuring all job cards and workshop documentation are completed accurately
- Working efficiently to maintain workshop productivity and quality standards
Please note: There may be a future requirement to work occasional Saturday shifts on a rota basis. This is not currently in place but candidates should be flexible should business requirements change.
The Person:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Mechanical Inspector
- NVQ Level 2, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 2 years
- Own tools are essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
