We're looking for an ambitious, hands-on Chef who is passionate about creating delicious food, takes pride in their craft, and wants to play a part in our next chapter.
The Role
You'll be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food in line with recipes and standards, working efficiently as part of the kitchen team to deliver an excellent guest experience while maintaining a clean, organised and compliant kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present dishes consistently in line with designated recipes and specifications.
- Work within the catering operating budget, using approved suppliers and minimising waste.
- Work collaboratively as part of the kitchen team to deliver an excellent dining experience for every guest.
- Carry out line cooking, food preparation and dish plating to a consistently high standard.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen, ensuring stock is rotated correctly and used efficiently.
- Ensure all food is correctly labelled, dated, stored and organised in line with food safety and quality standards.
- Keep cooking stations fully stocked and prepared, particularly before and during service.
- Minimise food waste through effective stock control and portion management.
- Complete all food preparation and presentation to the highest quality standards.
- Support the team in maintaining an organised, efficient and compliant kitchen.
- Prepare, clean and reset all operational areas for each service.
- Follow all opening, closing and cleaning procedures, ensuring cleaning schedules and required records are completed accurately.
- Comply with all food hygiene, HACCP, allergen, health and safety, and Environmental Health requirements at all times.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar catering environment.
- A passion for preparing high-quality food and delivering a great guest experience.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, allergen management and Environmental Health standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive, reliable and hands-on approach, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks during busy service periods.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and presentation.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality venue.
- Experience with stock rotation, ordering or stock control.
- Knowledge of menu development or seasonal specials.
- An interest in sustainability and reducing food waste.
