Teacher of Geography – Inspire, Challenge & Shape a High-Performing Humanities Curriculum
Location: Reading (RG4)
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 (MPR/UPR, based on experience) + TLR 2b for Curriculum Leadership (for the right candidate)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Teacher of Geography to join their team. This role focuses on planning and delivering highly effective lessons, contributing to curriculum development, and ensuring all students make strong progress in a safe, purposeful and ambitious learning environment.
For the right candidate, Curriculum Leadership opportunities are available, supported by a TLR 2b allowance.
You will play a key role in delivering a rich, engaging Geography curriculum, inspiring students to think critically about the world around them, and supporting their academic and personal development. You will also contribute to wider school and Trust priorities, working collaboratively with colleagues to strengthen teaching, learning and curriculum provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons in line with Trust schemes of work and the Learning & Teaching Framework
- Motivate and inspire students to engage positively in learning and achieve high academic standards
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, inform planning and close attainment gaps
- Maintain high standards of behaviour for learning in line with Trust expectations
- Act as a form tutor, supporting students’ personal development, wellbeing and progress
- Contribute to curriculum enrichment, including trips and wider learning opportunities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to whole-school and Trust priorities
- Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and all statutory and Trust policies
