We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our team working between two stunning hotels, The Atholl Palace Hotel and Fishers Hotel. you will have the chance to showcase your culinary expertise and contribute to the success of our renowned dining experiences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to the hotel's standards and specifications.
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and creating innovative culinary offerings.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring that all food preparation is carried out efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation, while ensuring proper food safety and hygiene practices are followed.
- Monitor stock levels, assist in inventory control, and place orders for necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Embrace a culture of continuous improvement, actively seeking opportunities to enhance culinary techniques and contribute to menu development.
- Both hotels are very busy, we are looking for a great chef, not an office job
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous/head chef or similar role within a reputable establishment.
- Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of different cooking techniques and food presentation.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional dishes.
- Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
