Job Description
Due to our continued expansion, McInnes Group has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Domestic Renewables & Heating Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role requires extensive travel across Scotland. The position involves mainly servicing and general maintenance but also includes responding to call-outs for general plumbing issues, with a primary focus on both gas and renewable heating systems.

Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance: Focus on the repair, servicing, and maintenance of both domestic and small commercial heating systems, including:
- Air Source Heat Pumps
- Ground Source heat pumps
- Gas boiler servicing and maintenance
- Oil Boiler servicing and maintenance
- General plumbing-related issues
- Client and Subcontractor Engagement: Ensure smooth project delivery through effective communication and coordination.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning to keep abreast of industry developments, particularly in renewable technologies and gas systems.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, ensuring all work meets Gas Safe standards.
- Mentorship: Share knowledge and skills with apprentices and junior team members, focusing on both traditional and renewable heating practices.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks as directed by managers or directors, which might include assisting with other renewable installations like solar PV.
Requirements:
Essential:
- A recognized plumbing qualification (SVQ, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Current in date domestic Gas qualification for gas safety & appliances.
- In date CSCS grade card.
- Clean DBS certificate.
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience with domestic installation & maintenance.
- Pro-active team player who is self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral & written.
- Ability to work both independently & within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Flexible approach to work with an ability to prioritize & manage your time effectively.
- A strong interest in renewable energy.
Desirable:
- Experience with Air Source Heat Pump installations and servicing. BPEC or equivalent certification.
- Experience in LPG boiler installations, servicing, and decommissioning.
- Knowledge of Oil Boilers, Solar PV & battery storage systems.
- SSSTS certified.
- Tetra working at heights.
