Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods using flatbed lorries across various routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries to transport goods to designated locations within scheduled timeframes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring securement of goods during transit
- Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies during deliveries
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly to management
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles
- Demonstrable knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic regulations in the UK
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, especially in logistics or freight sectors
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or lorry licences as required
- Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools is advantageous
