Charukola London LTD is a leading cultural organisation in the UK dedicated to South Asian heritage preservation, performing arts workshops, and community cultural events. We connect international artists and heritage practitioners with diverse audiences across the UK through both physical and digital platforms.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Cultural Event Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and logistical management of our upcoming South Asian cultural projects, festivals, and digital outreach exhibitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Execution: Design, coordinate, and manage the full lifecycle of South Asian cultural events, art exhibitions, and traditional heritage workshops from conception to completion.
- Logistics & Venue Management: Negotiate and secure service agreements with UK venue providers, cultural vendors, technical teams, and international artists.
- Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Monitor event budgets, track operational expenses, and prepare financial reports for the company directors to ensure profitability and cost-efficiency.
- Stakeholder & Artist Liaison: Coordinate directly with South Asian community groups, artists, and heritage practitioners based both in the UK and Bangladesh for seamless event participation.
- Risk & Audience Management: Develop robust health and safety plans, crowd control strategies, and logistical risk assessments for public indoor and outdoor cultural gatherings.
- Digital Marketing & Social Media Campaigning: Plan and execute intermediate-level digital marketing strategies to promote cultural events, workshops, and exhibitions across major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn). Monitor audience engagement, run targeted social media ad campaigns, and analyze performance metrics to increase digital footfall and ticket sales.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current UK Residency & Visa Status: Applicants must currently reside in the UK and hold a valid UK visa with full working/switching rights (e.g., Graduate Visa / Dependent Visa). Applications requiring overseas/out-of-country sponsorship will not be considered.
- Academic Background: Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/BA) in Sociology, Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, or a closely related discipline involving community dynamics and socio-cultural frameworks from a recognized institution.
- Professional Experience: Must have at least 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in managing South Asian and Bengali cultural events, digital community platforms, or cross-border heritage projects.
- Language Proficiency: Absolute fluency in English is required for corporate communications, vendor negotiations, and official documentation. Professional proficiency in Bengali is mandatory, as the role involves daily communication and coordination with traditional artists and community partners from Bangladesh.
- Core Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, proficiency in digital project management tools, and deep knowledge of South Asian cultural dynamics and event logistics.
- Institutional Network Requirement:The candidate must have a pre-existing professional network and proven track record of collaborating directly with institutional cultural bodies in Bangladesh
- Niche Technical Skill: Must have extensive experience in managing digital cultural outreach, including specialized knowledge of copyright compliance and licensing laws for broadcasting traditional South Asian folk music and visual arts across international digital streaming platforms.
- Deep Knowledge of Traditional Art Forms: Must possess deep domain knowledge of traditional Bengali seasonal festivals and traditional performance arts to accurately curate event programs and maintain cultural authenticity.
- Cross-Border Logistics: Proven experience in coordinating with visa processing agents and international freight forwarders specifically between Bangladesh and the UK for the safe transport of traditional South Asian art crafts, musical instruments, and artist delegations.
- Marketing & Tech Savviness: Strong understanding of intermediate digital marketing tools, search engine optimization (SEO) basics for event pages, and content scheduling software. Proven ability to craft engaging digital copies and coordinate visual assets tailored to the South Asian diaspora in the UK and audiences in Bangladesh.
Pay: From £34,500.00 per year
