Redwood Childcare is a growing residential childcare provider dedicated to supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, emotional behavioral difficulties, and challenging life experiences.
We are looking for passionate, resilient, and experienced Senior Residential Support Workers to join our team and help create safe, nurturing, and therapeutic homes for children and young people.
Using a trauma-informed and therapeutic PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy), you will play a key role in supporting young people with their emotional wellbeing, daily routines, education, independence skills, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the residential home
- Support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Build positive relationships and provide consistent therapeutic care
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for young people
- Support and mentor Residential Support Workers within the team
- Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing of young people are always prioritised
- Complete daily reports, risk assessments, and accurate recordings
- Support care planning and placement plans for young people
- Work in partnership with families, social workers, education providers, and external professionals
- Deputise for management when required
- Promote independence, life skills, education, and positive outcomes for children and young people
- Maintain high standards within the home environment
- Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings
- Work flexibly as part of a rota including long days, late shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent is essential
- Experience working within children’s residential care
- Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work flexibly on a rota basis
- Full commitment to providing high-quality care and support
- Enhanced DBS check required
