Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using block and mixer lorries across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly.
- Secure cargo safely to prevent movement or damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes and logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
- Adhere to all legal requirements for commercial driving, including hours of service regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for freight transportation.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage delivery schedules.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with team members and clients.
