Humanities Teacher – September Start (Southampton)
We are recruiting Humanities Teachers for secondary schools across Southampton that are looking to appoint staff for September. We welcome applications from teachers specialising in History, Geography, Religious Education, or those confident teaching across the Humanities curriculum.
These full-time positions typically run from 8:30am–3:30pm and offer competitive daily rates between £150 and £220, depending on experience, subject specialism, and the responsibilities of the role. Schools are recruiting for both long-term and permanent vacancies ahead of the new academic year.
You'll be joining schools that value engaging, thought-provoking teaching and are looking for teachers who can inspire curiosity about the world, encourage critical thinking, and help pupils develop a deeper understanding of historical, geographical, and cultural issues from the beginning of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering engaging Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
- Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting the wider Humanities department where appropriate
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Humanities within UK secondary schools
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for delivering high-quality teaching and learning
