Laundry Assistant (Maternity Cover Only) – Avocet House - Wyberton

We want to make sure your move to Tanglewood is not going to be stagnated and you do feel part of the team. We will advocate any training you need including NVQ Level 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on to work your way up.
Our beautiful new care home in Wyberton requires a laundry assistant to help ensure residents clothing is taken care of to a high standard, whilst ensuring a safe and comfortable environment at all times.
The shift pattern will be 8.00am to 15.00pm, 3 days on and 3 days off.
There are many arms to this important position and a few key responsibilities are:
· Sort washing into relevant groups, where applicable and process it through the washer, dryer and iron,
· Keep clean and dirty linen separate within the laundry area,
· Perform minor repairs to clients clothing,
· Ensure the laundry room is clean and tidy,
· Ensure statutory Health & Safety standard in the laundry area, and work within infection control guidelines, COSHH,
· Understand and ensure the implementation of the care home’s Health and Safety policy and Emergency and Fire Procedures,
· Report to the Registered Manager or the maintenance person, any faulty equipment/appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
