We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in electrical systems, fabrication, and equipment repair. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and comprehensive diagnostics on HGVs using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
- Fabricate parts or modifications as required using welding, soldering, and hand tools
- Use power tools safely and effectively for assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely during the handling of vehicle parts or equipment
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
Experience
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar heavy vehicle maintenance role
- Strong electrical experience including wiring, schematics interpretation, and soldering techniques
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
- Skilled in fabrication, welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools
This is a full time position, Monday to Friday 7:30-16:30 With 1 hour lunch break.
