People and Culture Advisor

We are seeking a People & Culture Advisor to play a key role within the People & Culture team, partnering with leaders and employees across a designated business area to deliver practical, commercially focused people solutions.
The role involves providing expert guidance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, supporting a culture of engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement.
Job Description
Working closely with senior managers, you will champion best practice in people management, ensuring all approaches are fair, ethical, and aligned with company values and principles.
This role contributes directly to enhancing the employee experience while supporting the organisation in achieving its strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional advice, guidance and support to managers and the People & Culture team, delivering clear and actionable recommendations
- Support managers with employee relations matters including performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, and investigations
- Coach and build capability in line managers to strengthen people management practices
- Review and support preparation of correspondence and reports relating to employee relations cases
- Assist in delivering training to managers on people management topics
- Support case management for Employment Tribunal claims
- Manage and respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) in line with legislation
- Contribute to HR projects, including restructuring and change initiatives aligned to HR strategy
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a People & Culture generalist role
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- CIPD qualified or working towards Level 5 or above
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Experience advising managers across a wide range of people management issues
- Awareness of TUPE processes and employee relations frameworks
- Experience working with trade unions or employee representatives
- Experience supporting change management and organisational restructuring
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Confident in presenting to large audiences via Teams
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel up to three days per week (car or car allowance provided)
