Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter specialising in Fire Doors to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fire-resistant doors in commercial and residential buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry principles, safety standards, and relevant building codes. The properties are often occupied and therefore a personable approach is always required.
The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring safety and compliance across various sites.

Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install fire doors according to schematics and technical specifications
- Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to complete carpentry tasks
- Ensure all installations meet fire safety regulations and building standards
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, and masonry teams as needed
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry with a focus on fire door installation or similar construction roles
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, and construction painting is advantageous
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Experience working with fire safety standards and building codes related to fire-resistant structures
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Previous involvement in construction projects requiring precise craftsmanship and attention to detail

Pay: £20.00-£28.00 per hour
