JOB SUMMARY:
To develop and deliver high quality programmes for young people, with particular focus on the King’s Trust Team Programme.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Plan and deliver a variety of development programmes in-line with funder specifications.
- Liaise with training providers, employment services, employers, youth organisations, schools, and colleges to recruit young people to participate in programmes.
- Support participants to liaise with community organisations to carry out projects, challenges, and work experience in accordance with programme requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to participants. Carry out reviews and develop action plans.
- Set and enforce appropriate disciplinary procedures in-line with Young Gloucestershire’s rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
- Support participants to complete qualifications and assess paperwork against qualification criteria.
- Work within budgets as agreed with the line manager.
- Support YG to meet funder requirements including retention and qualification targets.
- Maintain accurate records/reports and ensure required paperwork is completed on time.
- Take responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of programme participants.
- Produce risk assessments as required and ensure safeguarding of young people.
- Develop knowledge of additional opportunities and support networks that may benefit the development and progression of participants.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Maintain a quality service to young people across all YG provision
- Collect and review data ensuring projects are meeting KPI’s and project outcomes
- Maintain accurate records/reports and ensure required paperwork is completed on time
- To oversee the control, servicing and maintenance of equipment as relevant to your staff team
- Take responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of young people with specific safeguarding duties
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver additional seasonal programmes and residentials.
- Maintain accurate records using YG’s data management systems.
- Keep up to date with current affairs and maintain an awareness of resources that may be of benefit to Young Gloucestershire.
- Ensure servicing and maintenance of equipment as appropriate to your role.
- Maintain a teamwork approach to all aspects of work.
- Complete essential training.
- Uphold Young Gloucestershire’s ethos and policies.
- Promote a positive image of Young Gloucestershire.
- Work as part of the wider organisation and undertake duties as required to ensure the strategic objectives of the organisation are achieved.

- Experience of knowledge of mentoring
- An appropriate professional qualification in a relevant field
- Proficient at sourcing and building relationships with key partners from the charity, statutory and business sectors
- The ability to provide a positive role model for young people
- A background in supporting and motivating individuals to achieve their potential
- Knowledge and experience of working with young people
- Experience of leading public presentation/training/meetings
- Evidence of recent commitment to personal professional development
- High level of communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, including experience of writing accurate and concise reports
