Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team to support young people between 16-18 years old with their life skills to independence. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people and possess strong communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing essential support to individuals in need.
Duties:
- To support young people to attend health appointments.
- To support young people with budgeting and shopping.
- To support young people with LAC reviews including placement meetings.
- To support young people with life skills.
- To support young people with their physical health and mental well-being.
- Staff to support young people during out-of-hours and liaise with internal and external professionals.
- Assist in implementing pathway plans for individuals.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Provide support activities for young people in the at home and in the community.
- Utilize IT systems for documentation and reporting.
- Drive / escort individuals to appointments or activities as needed.
Experience:
- Prior experience working with children and/or young people is preferred.
- Knowledge of young peoples’ practices and procedures.
- Ability to follow pathway plans accurately.
- Strong communication skills to interact with diverse individuals.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation purposes.
Requirements
- The candidate must have previous work experience with young people with various care / support needs.
- The candidate must be friendly, confident, and able to work on his/her own without being supervised and as a team player.
- The candidate should be able to manage a variety of situations.
- The candidate must always have a can-do attitude.
- The candidate must have a good knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection.
