Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care and Support Workers to provide high-quality assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. Experience in dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Administer medication following prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records
- Support individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing behaviour management strategies and providing emotional reassurance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and preferences
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent needs using first aid skills when necessary
- Support families and carers by providing updates on the individual's condition and progress
- Working with vulnerable people
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments
- Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration and behaviour management
- Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients of all ages
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or equipment handling
- Competence in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties; clean driving record preferred
- First aid certification is highly advantageous
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals and their families
