Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 3.5 Tonne drivers to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining compliance with all road safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 3.5 tonne lorry to deliver goods to clients across designated routes
- Plan delivery schedules in accordance with company guidelines and customer requirements
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured and handled with care
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Adhere to all road safety laws and company policies during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers regarding delivery times or issues
- Assist with warehouse duties when required, including heavy lifting and stock organisation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with 3.5 Tonne vehicles or similar
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and knowledge of road regulations within the UK
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, particularly in handling heavy lifting
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules and paperwork accurately
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
