Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Finishing Working Foreman to take the lead on an existing high-end residential project in N7 Islington. First fix is complete, and we now need an expert to drive the project through to an exceptional finish.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in a finishing trade such as carpentry, drylining, or a similar discipline. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality building works. Applicants should be committed to safety, precision, and professionalism throughout their work. For the right candidate, there are similar opportunities available on our other projects once this 2-to-3-month phase is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management: Manage site quality, direct sub-contractors, and coordinate materials and deliveries.
- Communication: Maintain daily communication with the office team to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Hands-on Execution: Manage and execute hands-on finishing tasks, including fitting doors, sash windows, plasterboard, metal tracks, pocket doors, engineered flooring, tiles, and staircases.
- Trade Coordination: Support plumbing, electrical works, and other trades as part of an integrated project delivery approach.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure daily recording and building control compliance. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, strictly adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience managing single residential sites, with a strong focus on finishing work (carpentry, drylining, or related trades).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, saws).
- Design Literacy: Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and architectural specifications.
- Physical Capability: Physically fit with the capacity for heavy lifting and working at heights when required.
- Certifications: Relevant qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent), are highly preferred.
- Work Ethic: A strict commitment to health and safety standards, combined with a keen eye for detail and quality assurance.
Pay: £230.00-£270.00 per day
