SEMH Teacher (QTS Required) – KS3
Location: Hyde
Start Date: September 2026
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher with QTS to join a specialist SEMH provision in Hyde from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of KS3 pupils who require additional emotional, social, and behavioural support.
The successful candidate will be confident working with students with SEMH needs and comfortable managing challenging behaviours within a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering engaging KS3 lessons tailored to SEMH needs
- Following the school timetable while adapting lessons to meet individual learning requirements
- Building positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
- Managing challenging behaviour effectively using de-escalation and behaviour management strategies
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Working closely with support staff and the wider pastoral team
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs
- Resilient, patient, and committed to supporting vulnerable learners
