Key Purpose
- The post holder will be able to work across a diverse range of HR Administrative duties, ensuring high quality and robust processes and procedures are implemented and maintained
- Providing first line support for HR and recruitment queries received via email or telephone
- To pro-actively support the HR Team with all administrative tasks and make process improvements/ streamline where appropriate in discussion with the team
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Onboarding& Compliance:
- Coordinate and manage the complete onboarding process for new starters, including reference checks, DBS checks, Right to Work checks, and overseas checks.
- Ensure accurate compliance with Single Central Record requirements.
- Manage the online DBS portal and provide support to candidates.
New Starter Experience:
- Ensure a positive and seamless new starter journey, including pre-employment meetings and one-month check-in meetings.
- Issue contracts and offer letters within statutory time frames, calculating prorated salaries and leave entitlements.
- Take an active role in interview panels and supporting recruiting managers
Payroll Administration:
- Process payroll changes and generate accurate HR administration paperwork, adhering to payroll cut-off dates.
- Record new starters on the HR/Payroll system and process starter pension notifications.
Employee Relations:
- Provide administrative support to Business Partners in employee relations cases, including preparing packs and taking minutes.
- Organise and monitor the exit interview process and ensure efficient completion of leaver processes.
Cross-College Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Participate in Performance Management and professional development activities as required.

Essential
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Recent experience of using HR and Payroll systems with experience of processing payroll changes such as working hours, multiple contracts, promotions, new starters and leavers.
- Experience of working in a customer focused role in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
- Experience of pre-employment checks and recruitment including adverts, shortlisting, interviews and on boarding.
- Understanding of different employment contracts, part-time, term-time only, fixed-term, etc.
