HGV Technician (Night Shift)

The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and inspections on HGVs and commercial vehicles to ensure maximum vehicle safety, reliability and uptime.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles including HGV’s and commercial vehicles.
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and specialist tools.
- Comply with DVSA standards and always aim for a first-time fix.
- Prepare and present vehicles from their annual MOT test, striving for a 100% pass rate in order to minimise failures.
- Attend vehicle breakdowns and perform roadside repairs whenever possible to minimise downtime and ensure vehicles are back on the road quickly and safely.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and environmental/ recycling policies.
- Ensure vehicles comply with legal and manufacturer specifications, including emissions, roadworthiness and load-bearing capacity.
- Keep up to date with new technology and industry standards to maintain compliance.
- Maintain detailed and accurate service records, repair logs and job cards
Skills:
- Level 3 qualification in HGV/LGV maintenance preferred
- Applications welcomed from: Qualified HGV Technicians, Van Technicians, Light Vehicle Technicians with relevant experience (salary will reflect experience/qualifications)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Shift Patterns
Two night shift patterns are available:
o Week 1: Monday–Thursday
o Week 2: Tuesday–Friday
o Enjoy a long weekend every other week
OR
- Shorter night shift option:
- Monday–Friday, 10pm–6am
