Employer Engagement Officer #INDP
Location: Leeds (with travel to other sites where required)
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000
Job Purpose
The Employer Engagement Officer plays a key role in supporting learners into employment, work placements and further training opportunities. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with employers and education providers to create opportunities that match learners’ skills, experience and career aspirations.
This role involves generating employer partnerships, coordinating work placements, supporting learner progression and promoting employability services across the local business community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an employer engagement plan aligned with agreed performance targets and objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers across a range of sectors
- Secure employment opportunities, interviews and work placements for learners
- Support learners transitioning from education or work placements into employment
- Identify employers willing to offer work experience and employment opportunities suitable for learners’ skills and aspirations
- Maintain a strong understanding of the local labour market and recruitment trends
- Promote employability and pre-employment services through networking, presentations and employer engagement activities
- Attend careers events, job fairs and networking opportunities to increase employer awareness and engagement
- Work closely with internal teams to support learner outcomes and progression
- Maintain accurate records and reporting in line with company procedures
Skills, Experience & Qualities
Essential
- Previous experience within a sales, employer engagement or business development environment
- Confident building relationships and engaging with employers
- Comfortable making outbound calls and generating new opportunities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Competent using Microsoft Office packages, including Excel
- Ability to work towards targets and manage workloads effectively
- Problem-solving mindset with a positive, proactive attitude
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Existing network of employer contacts within business or education sectors
- Experience within construction, telecoms or employability sectors
- Experience supporting learners into employment or training opportunities
Package
- Competitive salary of £30,000 – £32,000
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays
