Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
- Repair or replace faulty components such as belts, hoses, filters, and electrical wiring
- Assist with the maintenance of workshop tools and equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and advising on vehicle care
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing vehicle parts or equipment
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed
Requirements
- Proven experience with vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other workshop machinery
- Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of equipment repair procedures and routine maintenance practices
- Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or related fields are desirable but not essential
