Role Purpose
Meadow Foods is seeking a dynamic and motivated Packing Team Leader to be responsible for managing and leading the team to maximise the day-to-day performance. They will also drive quality, H&S and standards across Butter, Fat Packing and Ghee. A key part of this role is to resolve day to day issues, and to be the responsible person OOH.
Key Duties
- Effectively lead and motivate their shift to meet the daily operational objectives and plan.
- To be the responsible person for out of hours
- Engage with team to deliver high performance by effectively training and managing people performance
- Maximise efficiencies across the packing lines
- Ensures the packing department and warehouses are continuously visually always visit and audit ready
- Build relationships across the shifts sharing best practice to improve performance and ensure operating procedures are aligned across the department.
- Ensure all products conform to specification, meet customer requirements and ensure quality performance (FTQ/FR) is in line with targets.
- Assists in driving the reduction of Injury rates, increase near miss reporting and mitigation actions.
- Conduct colleague appraisals at operator level and follows up on any training & development objectives
- Responsible for implementing resource utilisation and the management of all direct reports.
- Responsible for controlling any emergency issues/situations on site out of hours e.g., fire evacuation, pollution control, Injuries etc.
- Carries out Injury and Environmental investigations
- Takes control of plant breakdown and manage resource accordingly
- Supports the planning and packing manager in delivering a cost efficient and stable production process with emphasis on KPI as well as any change control projects.
- Carry out the responsibilities of a shift lead in accordance with recognised legal and ethical standards, and in line with specific company policies
- Identify and minimize waste in all forms across Department
- To be responsible for ensuring plan flexibility especially OOH
- Complete shift report at the end of each 12 hr shift
- Control the reporting of absence linking through to HR
- Complete shift paperwork to ensure all QCP’s and CCP’s are completed.
