Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Minder/Production Operative/Forklift Driver to join a small manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining machinery, handling materials efficiently, and ensuring smooth production processes. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment, along with mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate forklift trucks safely or be willing to be trained to operate forklift trucks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with previous manufacturing experience to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate production machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Manage materials handling, including loading and unloading goods using forklifts or manual methods
- Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal operation
- Conduct quality checks on products and report any defects or issues promptly
- Support the organisation of stock within the warehouse, maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines
Skills
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment are essential
- A valid forklift licence with experience of operating forklift trucks in a busy environment is ideal or be willing to be trained to operate forklifts
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely throughout shifts

The successful applicants will work an average 42 hour week, working 12 hour day and night shifts across 7 days (including weekends).
Pay: £36,160.00 per year
