Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fire Door Installer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fire-resistant doors in commercial and residential buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of various construction techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience with diverse building trades is highly desirable, and the position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and fit fire doors according to project specifications and schematics
- Install fire doors securely using appropriate hand tools and power tools
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant safety regulations and building codes
- Conduct inspections of installed doors for proper operation and safety standards
- Perform repairs or adjustments on existing fire door systems as required
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and carpentry teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions accurately
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction-related roles, particularly in installing doors or similar fixtures
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, fabrication, masonry, and construction painting is advantageous
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings effectively
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to fire door installation and general construction practices
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to handle lifting, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and working in confined spaces
- Relevant certifications or training in construction trades are preferred but not mandatory
