Cleaning Operative – Waddesdon School Site, Aylesbury
We are currently recruiting for several Cleaning Operatives to join our team. This permanent position will be based at a school in Waddesdon.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, approximately 4:00pm – 8:00pm, term time only.
There is also the opportunity for additional hours during school holidays to assist with deep cleaning duties.
Free Transport Provided
To support our staff, we provide free transport to and from the site. Collection is from Berrycroft Community Health Centre, Berryfields, with transport to Waddesdon School, and free return transport at the end of the shift.
The Role
This position, based in a school environment, requires staff, pupil and public areas to be kept impeccably clean and tidy for everyday use.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all areas are cleaned efficiently and to the required standards, including but not limited to sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, emptying rubbish bins, servicing toilets and wiping down communal surfaces.
- Using cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) guidelines.
- Keeping cleaning stores clean, tidy and fully stocked, ensuring equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times.
- Reporting any potential hazards on site to the Line Manager or Director.
- Complying with all company and client policies and statutory regulations, including Health & Safety, safe working practices, fire safety and COSHH requirements.
- Following any reasonable instructions from your Line Manager within agreed timescales.
- Completing mandatory training and e-learning within agreed timescales.

Previous Experience / Skills
- Previous cleaning experience desirable.
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to statutory requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work.
- Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will receive a full company induction and training relevant to their duties.
Due to the nature of our client's business, an Enhanced DBS check will be carried out at the company's expense.
Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory DBS and reference checks.
