Maintenance Engineer
Overtime: Overtime is paid at time and a half for all hours worked beyond 40 per week
Typical Hours: Approximately 45 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 9-hour shifts between 6am and 6pm depending on operational requirements

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining production equipment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong electrical and mechanical experience who enjoys problem-solving and working within a collaborative maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programmes
- Support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with GMP and health & safety standards
- Assist in the safe and efficient operation of maintenance systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot controls, sensors, pneumatics, and electrical systems within a production facility
- Diagnose and resolve engineering issues relating to production machinery and equipment
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime
- Track downtime and utilise failure data to improve equipment reliability and performance
Requirements
- Previous experience maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment within a food processing or food production environment
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical automation systems
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
- Good computer literacy and report writing skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
