Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Assist with medication administration in accordance with care plans and protocols
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Manage behaviour effectively, particularly in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living space
- Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary and safe transfer techniques
- Drive clients to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring safety during transportation
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or senior care is advantageous
- Relevant certifications such as first aid or medication administration training are preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Valid driving licence is beneficial for transportation duties
- Strong communication skills and empathetic nature essential for effective caregiving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caring environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if required
