Job Summary
Due to company expansion, we are seeking reliable Class 2 Grab Drivers for both day and night shift positions. Please clearly state in your application which shift you are applying for.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating a self-loading grab wagon with a clamshell bucket and must hold a valid CPCS, NPORS or ALLMI Certificate. The role involves collecting muck from sites, delivering it safely to tips, and managing site deliveries that may require precision placement in challenging locations. As a team player, you may also be required to drive Class 2 tippers on occasion.
Shift Options
Day Shift
- Location: In and around Greater Manchester & Cheshire.
- Workload: Multiple collections and loads throughout the day (mix of aggregate deliveries and muck removals).
- Requirements: Ability to work independently and interact with customers politely and professionally.
Night Shift
- Location: Mostly motorway works during night closures.
- Workload: Primarily "muck away" duties (typically 1–2 loads per night).
- Hours: Generally 7–8 hours per shift.
- Requirements: High level of professionalism while working on public highways.
Key Duties
- Safely and professionally operate the grab wagon (both driving and operating the grab mechanism).
- Deliver aggregates to sites and handle self-loading muck collections.
- Complete daily vehicle checks, waste transfer notes, and job tickets accurately.
- Communicate effectively with on-site customers to ensure their requirements are met.
- Collaborate with the team and drive Class 2 tippers when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licence: Minimum Class 2 HGV licence with full CPC (a licence check will be required).
- Certification: Must hold a valid CPCS, NPORS or ALLMI Grab Certificate.
- Experience: Prior experience is highly preferred.
- Bonus Qualifications: Additional tickets (e.g., Street Works, Highways Passport, or Gas tickets) are highly advantageous.
Pay: £14.00-£22.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 39.0 per week
