We're looking for a compassionate, approachable, and community-minded Peer Support Worker who understands the power of peer support and lived experience. You'll be passionate about suicide prevention, mental health, and creating safe spaces where people feel heard, valued, and supported. Whether your experience comes from personal lived experience, volunteering, or working in mental health and wellbeing settings, you'll understand the importance of boundaries, safeguarding, and working within a supportive team environment. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
This role is about helping to strengthen and grow our Suicide Prevention Champion network and supporting the delivery of peer-led activity across local communities. You'll help facilitate peer support groups, support volunteers, contribute to workshops and awareness events, and help create welcoming and inclusive spaces where conversations about suicide prevention and mental wellbeing can take place safely. Working closely with the Senior Suicide Prevention Coordinator, you'll play an important role in helping communities build confidence, reduce stigma, and support one another.
You will:

Support the development and coordination of the Suicide Prevention Champion volunteer network

Help plan, promote, and facilitate peer support groups across the boroughs

Provide encouragement and informal support to volunteers and participants

Assist with the delivery of suicide prevention workshops, awareness sessions, and community events

Help create safe, inclusive, and psychologically informed environments for peer support

Gather feedback and insights to support service improvement and development

Promote suicide prevention and wellbeing activities within local communities and partner organisations
