We are looking for a Head Chef who not only has the technical skill to run a kitchen independently, but who also resonates with our ethos of mindful cooking and food that does good for people and the planet.
Role Summary
The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring dishes are prepared to a consistently high standard and aligned with the Conscience Kitchen philosophy. This role requires someone confident working solo, capable of leading service, managing prep, and maintaining a calm, organised kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily kitchen operations with independence and professionalism
- Prepare and cook dishes that reflect our menu style: seasonal, wholesome, plant-forward, globally inspired
- Maintain consistency in flavour, presentation, and portioning
- Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries, and supplier relationships
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, safety, and allergen standards
- Oversee prep schedules and maintain an efficient workflow
- Contribute to menu development with dishes that align with our ethos
- Train, guide, and support junior kitchen staff when required
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-structured kitchen environment
- Uphold Conscience Kitchen’s commitment to sustainability and conscious sourcing
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior kitchen role (Sous Chef, Senior CDP, or equivalent)
- Proven ability to run a kitchen independently
- Strong understanding of seasonal cooking, plant-forward menus, and nutrient-led dishes
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- A positive, collaborative attitude and strong communication skills
- Passion for sustainability, ethical sourcing, and community-focused food
- Must be able to reliably commute to West London.
- Availability on the Weekend is a must.

Pay: From £41,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- London W11 1HE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
