Overview
We're a small e-commerce business in Carlisle looking for an organised, commercially curious person to support one of our directors with product development, sourcing, and the admin that keeps it all moving.
This role is mostly admin to start — managing tasks, tracking projects, organising the pipeline — with real opportunities to grow into wider buying work over time: trade shows, sourcing new products, market research, and spotting what could sell well on Amazon and our other channels.
£30,000–£35,000 pro rata (£19,200–£22,400 for 24 hrs)
What you'd be doing
- Keeping our director's projects and tasks organised — calendar management, status tracking, making sure nothing stalls.
- Managing the product development pipeline — what's been requested, what's in progress, what's waiting on a decision.
- Market research and trend monitoring — keeping an eye on what's selling, what's new, and what we should be looking at.
- Researching products that could work well on Amazon and our other channels.
- Occasional travel to trade shows with the director (or covering when he can't attend).
- Supporting supplier conversations, sample tracking, and product comparisons as the role grows.
You'd suit this role if
- You're naturally organised.
- You're curious about products and commercially minded — interested in what sells, what's trending, why things work.
- You communicate clearly and confidently with suppliers and external contacts.
- You're comfortable juggling lots of small moving pieces without losing track.
- You want a role that starts as admin-heavy but has real room to grow into something broader.
Practical details
- 24 hours per week, on-site in Carlisle (flexible on which days).
- £30,000–£35,000 pro rata depending on experience.
- Full-time hours may be available for the right person by extending into related areas — happy to discuss at interview.
- We're hiring across two complementary roles (this one and a Business Administrator). If you have strengths across both areas, let us know — we'd consider one combined full-time role for the right person.
