Customer 1st Logistics is seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver to join our growing transport operation. This role involves an early afternoon start, completing local collections before trunking freight to Burton upon Trent.
You will operate modern vehicles and represent Customer 1st Logistics to the highest professional standard while ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

How This Role Fits Into the Organisation
As a Class 1 driver, you are a key part of our transport operation. You will support the movement of freight through our network by completing afternoon collections and trunking freight to our hub in Burton upon Trent.
Your role helps ensure freight is moved efficiently through the network and that Customer 1st Logistics continues to deliver reliable service to its customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 1 vehicle safely and in full compliance with all UK road transport legislation and company policies
- Complete daily walkaround checks and accurately record them using the company mobile application
- Carry out local collections during the afternoon shift
- Transport freight to our hub location in Burton upon Trent
- Ensure all loads are secure and compliant before departure
- Maintain professional and courteous behaviour at customer sites
- Communicate effectively with transport management regarding delays or issues
- Keep the allocated vehicle clean, tidy, and in good condition
- Follow all site rules and health and safety procedures when loading and unloading
Qualifications & RequirementsEssential
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
- Reliable and punctual with good communication skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience with general haulage or trunking operations
- Experience working afternoon or evening shifts
