The difference you will make as a Technical Inspector
Reporting to the Damp & Mould Supervisor, the new Technical Inspector will work as part of Riverside’s Damp & Mold Team within the Home Response service, carrying out quality assurance inspections on responsive repairs to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality homes for our customers across the Cumbria Region.
You will play a key role in monitoring quality standards, ensuring works meet statutory, regulatory, and commercial requirements, and supporting continuous improvement across the service.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience of carrying out inspections within a housing, maintenance, or repairs environment
- Knowledge of monitoring risk, compliance, and health & safety requirements
- Understanding of the NHF Schedule of Rates and property maintenance standards
- Knowledge of key compliance areas including asbestos, legionella, fire safety, and building regulations
- Experience of carrying out risk assessments within residential settings
- Ability to collate, validate, and report accurate information
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and consistency
- Ability to monitor performance and escalate issues appropriately
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high-quality service
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, using initiative to resolve issues

Role Profile
You will carry out quality assurance inspections in our customers homes who has reported Damp & Mould, ensuring that all works are completed to the required standards and comply with statutory, regulatory and organisational requirements.
You will collate, validate and quality check data, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records across systems, trackers and databases, and supporting the production of performance reports and management information.
You will monitor key performance indicators, service standards and compliance requirements, identifying trends, risks or discrepancies and escalating these appropriately. You will support audit and assurance activities by providing accurate and timely information, while helping to maintain consistency across reporting processes, templates and procedures.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, contributing to service improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and supporting the implementation of best practices. In addition, you will respond flexibly to changing operational priorities, ensuring all activities are delivered in line with health and safety, data protection, equality and diversity policies at all times.

Person specification
Essential
- Experience in inspections within housing, repairs or maintenance environments
- Strong understanding of compliance, risk and health and safety requirements
- Ability to analyse and report data accurately
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable
- Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates
- Experience within social housing or property services
- Experience supporting audits and compliance reporting
- Additional relevant compliance or health & safety qualifications
