The Victoria Grand is a welcoming residential care home based in Worthing, dedicated to delivering compassionate, person-centred care to our residents. Our aim is to improve the lives of older people by providing a safe, supportive, and friendly environment where dignity, independence, and respect are at the heart of everything we do.
We are currently seeking a full-time Care Assistant to become part of our dedicated team.
The successful applicant will provide high-quality care in accordance with current best practice, relevant legislation, company policies, procedures, and agreed standards, working under the direction of the Team Leader.
This role focuses on supporting residents to maintain their independence, daily living skills, and personal interests while delivering individualised, person-centred care that meets their specific needs. Care Assistants are also expected to continually develop their knowledge and skills through ongoing training and professional development.
Role Responsibilities
As a Care Assistant, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Placing residents at the centre of all care provided, ensuring their choices, preferences, dignity, and wellbeing are respected and promoted at all times.
- Contributing to the effective day-to-day operation of the Home.
- Assisting residents with personal care in a compassionate and respectful manner, including support with personal hygiene and changing continence pads where required.
- Providing practical daily support to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment, including assisting with laundry, disinfecting equipment or mattresses when necessary, and carrying out light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming.
- Encouraging and supporting residents to maintain connections and relationships within the local community.
- Delivering care in accordance with individual care plans and guidance to ensure consistent and appropriate support.
- Reporting any changes in a resident's physical, emotional, or social wellbeing to the Team Leader.
- Promoting and safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of all residents.
Working with Others
- Building positive and professional working relationships with colleagues across the Home.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for residents.
- Supporting residents to maintain meaningful relationships with family members, friends, and others who are important to them, where appropriate.

This position may require working a combination of both day and night shifts.
