We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to oversee daily operations across our functions. The ideal candidate will lead by example, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety while maintaining high performance standards across all warehouse activities.
This role is key to driving operational excellence within a busy, fast-paced eCommerce and multi-channel environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse operatives to achieve daily KPIs and operational targets.
- Supervise daily operations in your allocated department.
- Manage and prioritise workload to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of orders.
- Maintain and promote a culture of Health & Safety, acting as a Health and Safety Champion on shift.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contribute to their creation and ongoing review.
- Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and PDA/scanner devices to monitor inventory, track performance, and maintain accuracy.
- Support the management of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring correct usage, safety checks, and maintenance.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (e.g. Customer Service, Buying, and eCommerce) to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Lead by example, this is a hands-on role requiring active participation in warehouse operations.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ warehouse experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory or team leader experience.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience using PDA/scanners.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Flexible and process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred:
- Counterbalance forklift licence.
- eCommerce and multi-channel warehouse experience.
- Experience using Linnworks or similar order management platforms.
- Knowledge or exposure to 5S and/or Lean Six Sigma principles.
Shift patterns vary and can fall within anywhere from 6:00-22:00 Monday to Sunday, Required to work 5 out of 7 days a week.
