Cook/Kitchen Hand
Holker Hall is the family home of the Cavendish family, situated on the shores of Morecambe Bay in the south Lakes. The Courtyard Café is an integral part of our visitor experience at Holker Hall, and is a popular and vibrant choice for locals and visitors alike. The café accommodates up to 180 covers across indoor and outdoor seating and hosts a variety of events throughout the season. It is a fast-paced, high-volume environment focused on efficient service and quick turnaround.
This role can be permanent or fixed term, depending on availability.
Wednesday - Sunday 8.30am - 5.30pm and bank holiday Monday's.
No long shifts guaranteed!
The role is flexible and can be tailored to suit the right candidate’s skills and development goals, including a variety of responsibilities across cooking and line preparation, with opportunities for further development.
The role:
- Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping, portioning, and basic food prep
- Producing menu items to a consistent standard
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen operation
- Ensuring the kitchen operates in a timely manner, understanding there are peaks and troughs of the business
- Complying with and enforcing food safety and health & safety standards
- Any other duties that may be required to assist in the efficient running of the kitchen
Person Specification:
- 1 years’ experience in a comparably busy café kitchen environment
- A passion for great ingredients and thoughtful, innovative cooking
- Works well under pressure
- An understanding of current Food Safety legislation, training will be provided where appropriate
