Beatson's Building Supplies is one of Scotland's largest independent Builders Merchants. We trade as Beatson's Building Supplies butalso have two depots trading as Orchard Timber Products and three other trading divisions of Beatson's Direct our ecommerce business, Beatson's Concrete our ready-mix concrete business and Skyline Roofing supplying our specialist roofing merchant business. We employ around 170 people across our 8 sites in Alloa, Cumbernauld, Dunfermline, Penicuik, Errol & Stirling, Livingston and Forfar.
Job Description
An opportunity has arisen at our busy Stirling branch for a full time Yard Assistant to join our team. Working as part of a team, and reporting to the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing an excellent service to our customers.
This role is combined with working between the yard and the warehouse therefore you'll often be working outside. This role would be a great opportunity for people who love working outdoors. Forklift experience is essential.
Full PPE and workwear will be supplied.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Product knowledge to enable you to offer advice and help to customers
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, assisting the Group Stock Control Manager when carrying out regular stock counts
- Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
- Welcome and greet customers to the branch taking an active interest in their projects
- Assist in the preparation of customer orders including loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided)
- Experience of manual handling equipment would be beneficial

The ideal candidate must have the following:
- Full UK Driving licence
- Forklift licence and experience are essential
- Builders Merchant experience is essential
Salary: depending on experience
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:30 – 17:00 and every second Saturday 7:30 – 12:00
