As an E-commerce/Product Developer is responsible for sourcing new products and suppliers to support business growth while ensuring the company's online product catalogue is accurate, engaging, and up to date. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, the role focuses on identifying new opportunities, maintaining supplier relationships, coordinating new product introductions, and managing product information across the company's e-commerce platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Sourcing & Relationship Management
- Research and identify new suppliers and products that align with business objectives and customer demand.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQs).
- Coordinate product samples and communicate feedback with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely delivery.
- Stay informed of market trends and identify opportunities to expand the product range.
E-commerce Product Management
- Add new products to the company website and e-commerce platforms in a timely and accurate manner.
- Create and maintain product listings, including descriptions, specifications, pricing, images, and product attributes.
- Ensure all product information is accurate, consistent, and optimised for customer experience and online search (SEO).
- Update product information, pricing, stock status, and promotional content as required.
- Organise products into the appropriate categories and ensure website navigation remains clear and user-friendly.
- Perform regular audits of online product data to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Product & Business Coordination
- Coordinate the launch of new products with purchasing, marketing, warehouse, and customer service teams.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain product information, technical specifications, certifications, and marketing assets.
- Assist in resolving product, supplier, or stock-related issues.
- Support promotional campaigns by ensuring product information and pricing are updated accurately and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Experience in e-commerce, supplier sourcing, purchasing, merchandising, or product coordination.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, or similar) is desirable.
- Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is an advantage.
