Overview
General Assistant required for a long-running, well-established 52-bedroom, 4-star, country house hotel in the spectacular mid-Wales countryside.

Our exceptional front-of-the-house team has a vacancy for an energetic and enthusiastic General Assistant.
Duties
- Serve drinks and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Take orders accurately and handle cash or card payments with precision
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and work surfaces
- Restock bar supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts
- Assist with food preparation when required, ensuring adherence to food safety standards
- Upsell drinks and promotions to maximise sales opportunities
- Provide excellent guest services by engaging courteously and attentively with customers
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws and responsible alcohol service policies
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with general bar operations and guest needs
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling of beverages is advantageous
- Experience in serving or bartending roles demonstrates strong customer service skills
- Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately
- Kitchen or culinary experience can be beneficial for understanding food preparation processes
- Strong time management skills are essential to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to work well within a team and deliver excellent guest services consistently
