Reddo Transport are an exciting transport company with a vision, we aim to provide outstanding professional transport services locally in the North Yorkshire area. We are seeking skilled professional HGV operatives to join our team, working out of our new depot at Sherburn in Elmet. We are looking for committed team players who want to feel like part of the business.
We have openings for experienced class 1 night trunk drivers. We are specifically looking for drivers who will operate our new fleet with pride and treat their truck like their own. We are offering competitive rates of pay and a friendly professional environment in which we can all grow together.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in curtain side trailer operations. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service.
Duties
- Operate curtain side articulated vehicles transport goods to various locations as scheduled
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns professionally
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail in all aspects of the job
