Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Assessor to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, system design, and related technical skills. This role involves evaluating electrical systems, conducting root cause analyses, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful applicant will contribute to the development and optimisation of electrical solutions across various projects, supporting continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of electrical systems, including schematic analysis and system design evaluations.
- Utilise CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to develop detailed electrical schematics and layouts.
- Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures or system inefficiencies using MATLAB, Python, or specialised diagnostic tools.
- Analyse signal processing data and firmware to identify issues within electronic systems.
- Design and evaluate circuit diagrams and schematics for complex projects involving surface mount technology (SMT) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Apply knowledge of ARM architecture, debugging techniques, soldering, and surface mount technology for hardware troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into system designs effectively.
- Utilise simulation tools such as Simulink for dynamic system modelling and testing.
- Support the development of firmware and embedded software using C++, Perl, or Python to optimise system performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations through detailed assessments and documentation.
Skills
- Strong understanding of System on Chip (SoC) architectures and their applications in electrical systems.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies for troubleshooting complex electronic issues.
- Extensive experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks for schematic creation and mechanical integration.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles related to circuit design, system design, and signal processing.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM microcontrollers, soldering, debugging, and firmware development.
- Familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and electronics assembly processes.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and technical documentation effectively.
- Programming skills in Python, C++, Perl, MATLAB for automation, data analysis, or embedded system development.
