Calderdale Council is recruiting School Crossing Patrol Operatives / "lollipop" people to help families safely cross the road on their way to and from school. It is a great way to stay active, meet local people, give back to your community.
No previous experience necessary- Full training and uniform will be provided
- Membership of the local government pension scheme
- Paid all year round, including school holidays (Pro-rata)
We are looking for punctual, reliable, and community minded individuals from all backgrounds and communities to help children and families cross roads safely on their journey to and from school. In this important public safety role, you will support your local community and help children get to school safely.
The ideal candidate will:
Be self-motivated and well organised- Have the ability to give clear instructions
- Have the ability to communicate with and range of audiences
- Be able to follow instructions and procedures
- Be able to work with minimal supervision
- Have some experience of working with the public
